Collection: Amino Acids, Proteins & Nucleotides
The human body consists of 21% protein and about 70% water. Amino acids form the basis of all proteins, without which an organism could not live. In addition to the formation of skin, hair, muscles and tissue, amino acids play an essential role as transport proteins (hemoglobin, myoglobin), connective tissue proteins (collagen, elastin), immune globulins (the body's own defenses) and as basic building blocks for cell regeneration. Our body is also dependent on the supply of eight essential amino acids to be able to perform all the above functions optimally.
